The Most Fun!

The Mother Ruckin Houligans have officially been deemed RUGGED MANIACS! Last weekend, three of my dear friends and I loaded up the truck and headed on down to Green Cove Springs, FL to participate in the Rugged Maniac 5K. It was honestly the most fun I have had in quite some time. The coolest thing about this totally awesome all girls weekend was that two out of the four girls just recently started running. Like in the past few months! We trained for a little over a month and I am so proud of all of us. It is so amazing and cool to watch people try new things and accomplish things they never thought possible!

We named ourselves the Mother Ruckin Houligans because we figure we are mothers, from Rucker and are usually always hauling our little houligans. Clever, I know! We decided on tutus because, well, it was just fun and girly and who doesn't like to sparkle! The course was designed with the help of Navy Seals and was quite fun...until we ran through over a mile of pure sugar sand. We didn't see that one coming and quite frankly, it was a little bit of a let down as it was boring! The obstacles were fun and challenging and totally tutu accessible. (We got lots of compliments on our tutus!)
There were four of these walls in a row!

There were several of these vertical hills,

We were all pumped about the water slide but sadly, it was not nearly as cool as we envisioned. They only had one hose going so the surface was no where near slick and we actually ended up having to "paddle" our way down it.

Low crawling through the mud pit was a lot of fun!

We also jumped fire!

We are seriously thinking about taking on the Warrior Dash in May somewhere down in Georgia. We will definitely be able to kick some serious ass next time now that we know what to expect, how to train and how rugged we are!

After the race, we had a girls night out at Applebees, where we drank adult beverages, laughed so much our abs were aching and ate our meals without any small children in site! I do believe my favorite thing about that whole night was my rather large glass of sangria!

Who knew you could have that much fun at Applebees!

We had so much fun! I can't wait to do it again. Although, none of this would be possible without the assistance of my awesomely handsome and helpful husband. Who not only keep the kids all weekend, but cleaned the house and taught Ise how to ride a bike! Hmm, maybe I should leave more often...
