Post Much?
Hmm, so the posting daily for a month doesn't seem to be working out. As of late, I have not had much time to post all that I want to say, but am okay with this because we have been having a blast down here in sunny ole Florida! Does it get any better then Sea World, smores around the fire and seeing family and old friends that are like family! I think not. However, as with all good things, our trip is coming to an end and we are headed back north tomorrow. This leads me to the topic of my next group of heroes, single parents. From personal experience, I realize that it takes the right mixture of patience, insanity and alcohol to make it through some days, but I am one of the lucky ones. I am only a part time single parent. I also have money in the bank, the support of my husband and great family to pack up the kids and drop off when things get to be too crazy! I have no idea how some of these men and women do it. I read stories all the time about individuals who are the sole provider and caretaker of their children, that work full time, take care of special needs and go to school in order to provide more for their children. I have to admit, these folks leave me in awe! I swore to myself this deployment that my children will be my focus, not a burden. I swore that I would ensure they still felt loved, cherished and welcomed, even though 1/2 of the parental team is missing. I swore that this year would not break us, but mold us and strength us to be a better, happier, more appreciative family. I truly have found a deep and sincere respect for those single parents and the struggles and triumphs that come along with that!

Heroes
For the month of June, I decided in an attempt to post regularly, I would join up with NaBloPoMo and post thirty days on one topic. The topic for June is heroes. Oddly enough, this topic has been on mind since we recently had a sermon on it at church. Webster defines a hero as,
(a)a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities and (b)one that shows great courage. A hero, in my eyes, must demonstrate a little of both definitions.
I figured it would only be fitting to start with my number one hero, Jesus. I live in awe of the man, who knew no sin, but died for my sins. A man who paid the ransom so that I could have eternal life in heaven. A man so humble, he carried the cross and died, DIED, for my sins. Remarkable does not even begin to describe the man. It is only through my relationship with Christ and his amazing love that I am saved. His faith and love are immense, never fleeting and forever.
