Ten on a Rainy Tuesday!

1. Asher flat out refuses to take more than a 20 minute nap through out the day...unless he is buckled into his car seat and cruising down the road. I suppose this really isn't grounds for complaining since he does sleep through the night but it makes for a really difficult second half of the afternoon. Too bad I can't accomplish more sitting on the couch, clutching a sleeping child.

2. Did I mention he also likes to be one of the first to greet the sun! His normal wake up call is 0530..in fact, he is so consistent that I could literally use him as my alarm clock. I have tried to convince him that 0530 is way too early but he refuses to listen. Here he is around 0800 this morning...

3. I started doing Cross Fit at the beginning of this month. I absolutely love it and can already see huge improvements in my fitness level. I can't even describe how incredible it is to walk into the gym, read the WOD (workout of the day) on the board, think to myself I can never do that and then make it happen! Seriously, I scaled monkey bars last week like it was No. Big. Deal. Yesterday I accomplished the Filthy Fifty...I will be honest, it was pretty darn filthy. There were some cuss words, lots of sweats and possibly a few tears but I did it! Plus, now I have a goal to beat for the next time I take it on!

4. Luke is in the field for the week. I can't imagine how much fun they are having as the weather here this week stinks. The forecast is calling for torrential downpours all week. Thankfully, he will be taking leave next month and hopefully we are headed somewhere sunny and tropical!

5. I made chicken tikka masala this week for dinner and it was ah-mazing! If you like Indian food or just want to try it, this is a super easy and delicious recipe to try.
Oddly enough, the one jalapeno pepper didn't make the dish spicy enough for us so we added some red pepper flakes to add some more heat and it was perfect!

6. I drove to Seoul today for the very first time. It was a little hairy at times. I had to slam on the brakes once to avoid a collision in front of us and saw three different compact cars almost get taken out by city buses, but we not only survived, we found our destination! Of course it had to be raining, that just added to the excitement!

7. I am starting to think Asher prefers Isaac out of the rest of us around here. Just call him the baby whisperer! I tried for over an hour to settle the little guy down to no avail. Isaac steps in, offers to hold him, five minutes later, I find them like this!

8. Check out this guy. He is standing in the middle of an eight lane highway, at rush hour, selling rice cakes!

9. The countdown is on! Only 63 more days until Nana and Cheez come to Korea! We are so excited and anxiously counting down the days!!!

10.  ANd now it is off to bed...0530 comes super early around here!

Tuesday Ten!

Its been awhile since I last posted one of these!
1. I recently struck an amazing deal on an almost new Peg Perego stroller and a bassinet for Babylicious! I found the stroller on Craigslist and the bassinet at a garage sale that I just happened to drive by. I scored both for less then 100 bucks! SCORE!

2. The stroller and the bassinet are the ONLY two items I have bought so far. This is totally out of character for me! By this point with Isaac,  I already owned EVERYTHING on the market that year for babies. And with Delainey, I already had enough cloth diapers to diaper a small country! I like this new, slow pace of baby gear buying better. This house is WAY to darn small to do it any other way! Plus, after two kids I have learned that less is definitely more!

3. Delainey is certain this baby is a girl. In fact she thinks I am carrying twin girls, Victoria and Isabelle. I have assured her that if there were two babies in my belly, the doctor would certainly have told us by now. She just shrugs her shoulders and says, "then I will have two babies girls and name them Victoria and Isabelle!"

4. Delainey has really gotten into dressing herself these days. The girl can really accessorize! Luke said I am encouraging her to be the next Paris Hilton by letting her dress this way but I think its great for her creativity and self confidence. You should see her when she puts an outfit together. Her face lights up, a giant smile beams from her sweet little face and she twirls about like a princess begging me to take her picture!

5. I really want to wait till I deliver to find out the sex of this baby. Luke, the children and my mother are very strongly opposed to that idea. I think it would be a great surprise especially since we have one of each already. I guess we shall see who wins out soon enough!

6. I turned 31 on Sunday. I told the kids I was 30 and Isaac piped up with, "No you aren't! You turned 30 last year, that means you are 31 this year." I had to explain to him that once a momma turns 30 she just says 30 until she hits 40! Luke and the kids treated me to a fabulous day. We went to church, came home and took a long, much needed nap, watched Delainey's dance recital and had Publix subs and chocolate cake. Plus, they got me a memory foam pillow which I didn't even know I needed until I got it! I suppose 31 won't be so bad after all!

7. Isaac finally lost his second tooth. Apparently, according to him, he is the only kid in second grade to have only lost two teeth so far. It drives him crazy but I don't mind it so much. I am not really into all that blood and yuck so much. It was bad enough that he walked into the kitchen and handed it to me, to which I squealed and accidentally dropped it and then spent 35 minutes on my hands and knees searching for the little bugger. YUCK!

8. Did I mention the girl is a fashion queen!

9. The weather right now is PERFECT! I am trying to live it up and enjoy it as much as I can right now because I know hotter, miserable, sweaty days are ahead of us. My favorite thing to do is to take an after dinner stroll through the neighborhood with the kids. Sometimes we ride bikes up to the park or up and around the empty motorcycle track which is also a lot of fun. I haven't run in about two weeks because my running partner is out due to a recent surgery and it really just doesn't sound as pleasant without her. I have been walking a lot though and swimming laps up at the gym. I really enjoy my time in the pool. Usually its just myself and the older folks swimming so I feel comfortable and not so self conscious about my ever expanding waist band. Plus, its easy on my joints but leaves me feeling like I had a great workout. Hopefully I can keep it up!

10. The kids are itching to snuggle and watch Phineas and Ferb so I am off! Hopefully the next time I do one of these, I will have more interesting tid bits to share!

Tuesday Ten!

It has been a while since I last did one of these...
1. I think I am finally finding my stride so to speak with running again. Its helps that I have a few amazing gal pals here that love to run and keep me going. My times are improving considerably and I am super excited about our upcoming 1/2 marathon in March!

2. Is it just me or did January go by like a blur?

3. Isaac turns 8 very, very soon. Eight years old, how the heck did that happen already? We are planning a super cool Lego Ninjago party here at the house. I have never in my life wanted to have a party at my house but it was either that or shell out 300 bucks for AN HOUR at the Fun Zone....yeah, not happening! After viewing lots of neat ideas online, I am actually getting pretty excited about the idea, well, as long as I don't dwell on the fact that eight 8 year old boys will be landing on my house for 2 hours!

4. I gave a testimony on marriage last week at MOPS. It was actually a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I got the sweetest email yesterday from one of the mentor moms that was in the meeting thanking me for being so open and honest. She said I was very refreshing, humorous and was a great inspiration to the other moms, even her and she has been married 40 years. I felt truly blessed that she took the time to thank me; it really was encouraging to me!

5. Its crazy how I always have so many ideas rolling around in my head for posts such as this but then when I sit down to type it out, I can never remember half of them! I guess I should start writing them down to reference later but those of you who know me, know I would never be able to locate that list when it came time to.

6. Delainey has already started planning her birthday party. Up until yesterday, she wanted to have a bumble bee birthday, which I thought would be so cute. But, when she remembered that bumble bees are yellow and black (which, she claims are boy colors) she quickly switched it to an Ariel mermaid party. I told her we could still do the bumble bee party and just make the bees yellow and pink and she said (sounding very annoyed at the thought I might add) "Mom! Yellow and pink do NOT go together!" Little Miss Sassafras!”

7. I don't know if this makes me a complete dork or not but my new favorite show to watch on Netflix is Frasier. Oh my heavens, it makes me laugh! I watched an episode last night where Frasier, Niles, Daphne and the dad go on a trip in a Winnebago. I seriously thought I was going to wet my pants. I have now added taking a Winnebago trip with my parents onto my bucket list!

8. My friend Katrina and I are running the Tough Mudder in Atlanta in two weeks. She sent me this video today and now I am totally rethinking the whole "lots run 10 miles through the mud and get zapped with electricity while we do it" idea.

9. Can you please say a prayer for my dear friend Dustin's little girl, Mallory. She has been battling fevers for over a week and was just recently hospitalized with Kawasaki Disease. Dustin's hubby is currently deployed and she has two little boys at home to tend to as well as her sick baby girl. She has a lot on her plate right now and can use all the prayers she can get! Thanks so much.

10. I am off now to complete some Pinterest projects I have been working on! The owl rice heating pads I am making are so stinking cute....can't wait to post pics when I am done with them.

Nighty Nite Y'all

Tuesday Ten!

1. I always sit down to write my Ten on Tuesday and usually can't think of 10 things to write and give up around number seven or eight. It seems like an easy task until I sit down and actually try and think of 10 things worth reading about.

2. The neighbor girls and I tried out a quaint little bakery today called, Cupcakes Y'all and it was fabulous! I had a turkey and cheese panini and a brownie sundae cupcake, DIVINE!

3. I made sure to hit the treadmill before we went to Cupcakes Y'all so I could fully enjoy the experience. Although, that cupcake was pretty dang good, so I am sure I owe about another 5 miles for all its yummy goodness I devoured!

4. Isaac had a basketball game tonight and did quite well. Although I did have a sweaty pits moment when I heard the coach yelling Time Out due to a baby running across the court. Yeah, that baby would be Delainey! She apparently ran out to get to her brother while I was engaged in conversation with a friend about the awesome cupcake I had eaten earlier in the day!

5. Luke made me watch the most disturbing movie last night on Net Flix. The movie was called Frozen and was about three friends that get stranded on a ski lift over night. It was a stupid movie, that I couldn't stop watching and the ending was lame.

6. You should see me play the Michael Jackson Experience on Wii...I have mad skills!
(Please note that I seem to be the only one really feeling the moves and that I threw my back out shortly after this move!)

7. Oh number seven, we meet again. This is where I usually get stuck and give up and go to bed...not tonight though. Tuesday ten, I will complete you!

8. Last night, I awoke to Isaac screaming. I jumped out of bed to investigate and found him standing in the shower, pressed up against the wall. The cold water was running and he was crying. I got him out of the shower and asked him what the heck he was doing. He replied, " I just can't beat this game. I try and try and try and I just can't do it." Crazy kid!

9. Yesterday, I told Delainey that I loved her. Her response, "No momma. I not want to love you today...ok momma (said in her sweetest voice and with a hint of a smile!)

10. Can I just say, that watching Luke play dollhouse and sit through Strawberry Shortcake with her, makes me fall in love with him all over again!

Whew, I did it! Although, four minutes too late...dang it!

Tuesday's Ten on Wednesday!

1. Do you have an innie or an outie?
An innie, its so deep I think if you stuck your finger in it you could tickle my spine!

2. What kind of milkshake do you order?
I usually don't order milkshakes as they have a way of making me regret them for several days after, but if I do, its usually cookies and cream from Chik fil a or Mocha from Arbys!

3. How often do you repeat outfits at work?
Everyday, since I work at home...I usually find myself still in my work out gear after lunch when I finally get a moment while baby girl is sleeping to take a quick shower and change.

4. What are your feelings about thank you notes?
They are very much appreciated and well received, and should be done more often!

5. Do you like spicy food?
I am sure my idea of spicy is very different from others, but no, I am not a huge fan!

6. How many toilet paper squares do you use?
Too many, judging from the frequency in which I clog toilets.

7. Were you in Girl Scouts?
I sure was! I met two of my very best friends while in girl scouts. I think I made it to Juniors before I decided it was too dorky for me. I have wonderful fond memories from being a girl scout!

8. Notebooks/Journals: College ruled? Wide Ruled? No lines? Spiral Bound? Plain front? Decorative?
Oooo... I love journals and little notebooks. I prefer college ruled with a decorative cover.

9. Do you snack throughout the day? What do you pack for snacks?
I much prefer snacking to large meals. My favorite snacks are fruits, pretzels and granola bars.

10. What is your favorite month? Why?

Hmm, I love April because its my birth month and usually the start of spring, but I also really love October because it means cooler weather and fall activities are beginning!

Tuesday Ten!

1. We have less than 30 days left in NC, the way I feel about this changes on a daily basis.

2. A dear girlfriend told me REALLY REALLY REALLY good news last night...like the super duper awesomeness news ever...so happy for her! Wish we were both sticking around these parts to enjoy the good news together, but such is the Army life!

3. I made a huge life altering decision this past week, only to wig the freak out and change my mind again, and then again, and then finally again...apparently I am not ready for anything that life changing just yet, if ever. Thank God, the Lord placed enough sane people around me to keep me on an even keel.

4. Baby fever has hit me like a ton of bricks! It could be the fact that every single person I know is currently pregnant (while not every single person, but darn near close). Some days I am quite thankful that Luke says absolutely not and other days it makes me quite sad to think we will never have another slimy, screaming bundle of joy to love all over and squeeze!

5. I gave my blog a face lift...I wish I was more savvy in that area, but this will do for now I suppose.

6. I absolutely hate flies!

7. Both children are covered in spider tattoos. Delainey has a love for all things tattoo...I suppose I could careless how many she is currently sporting, as long as they always stay fake.

8. I bought a bikini...WHAT? I know right. It actually doesn't look half bad and is my motivation to keep on keeping on in that gym! Luke is searching pretty hot and heavy for a boat to purchase and I want to debut that baby on that boat!

9. The air is still out in my car...which makes for quite a grand entrance where ever I go. I am not so sure the wind-blown look is in this year! It's amazing the little things we take for granted!

10. I am strongly leaning towards racing in the Crab Trap Triathlon this fall. The only issues are, I don't have a bike and haven't swam in years so it would take some training and require a bike purchase but I would love to check that off my life list. Once the dust settles from this move, I hope to pursue this further.

Tuesday Ten!

1. I bought a new shredder and am having the time of my life shredding darn near everything in the house! I have two full paper bags of stuff that has accumulated over the past two months when my old shredder died!

2. I ran the Army 10 Miler last Friday and did really well for little to no training for it! To be honest, a friend emailed me and asked me to run it with her. I immediately said yes as I read the email as saying a 10k, which is 6 miles. Boy was I shocked and a little frightened by the fact that it truly was a ten mile run! I did really well considering though and had a blast running it! I even did better than I thought I would, ten miles in 1 hr, 37 minutes! Oh, and I might lose my big toe nail, which would be totally disgusting but also a badge of honor (HA!)

3. Ise is attending football camp this week. He looks freaking adorable in his mesh shorts and baseball cap and is tanning up quite nicely! I can't believe that kid is going into the first grade already!

4. Delainey doodle has showed an increasing interest in potty training lately. Twice now she has come to me and told me she had to pee and then peed on the potty! She is such a hoot that kid! I would love to have her potty trained before the end of the summer.

5. We are schedule to be out of North Carolina by July 22ND! YIKES! We had a lead on an incredible house down in AL that both Luke and I fell in love with but the seller had already accepted an offer when we submitted ours. However, that exact same day, the housing office called with a brand new, single family home that she was willing to hold for us if we could be there before August 1st, which I take as a sign from above! We can always move off post later on, but with the quality of homes listed on the market down there currently, neither Luke or I are willing to purchase a house just to own one.

6. I recently made both the Pioneer Woman's chocolate sheet cake and her enchiladas and both went over HUGE with the family! The sheet cake was enormous though so I recommend making it for a party or sharing with several neighbors or friends! Its probably possible to eat the entire thing, which is another reason I totally recommend sharing with others!

7. Today, the kids and I piled into the car and drove to Cary, 45 minutes up the road to have the a/c in the Jetta fixed. Forty-five minutes in the car with no air, blasting the radio to drone out the screaming child in the backseat that hates driving with the windows down will definitely due irreversible damage to your nerves. However, the real fun didn't start until he told me the sticker price to fix the air conditioning...lets just say it was more then 1/2 of what the car is worth! Soooo, I piled both children back into the car, after having had to entertain the little darlings for two hours in the waiting room and forking over $127 dollars for the pleasure of having them tell me the issues and then got the privilege of driving home, the exact same way we got there! OY VEY...I need a drink!

8. The kids are having a blast outside in the blazing Carolina heat! All they need is a plastic pool, a couple of squirt guns and a running hose and they are content for hours! I love the summer, especially this year, Daddy is home, the kids are all big enough to enjoy the water and I know its my last one here in NC. As much as I complain about the heat and bugs here in NC, I know that AL has a whole lot more of both ready and waiting for me!

9. Just realized that Alabama schools start a COMPLETE month before I thought they did, which is putting drastic restraints on some of our other plans!

10. I can't believe my baby brother will be getting married in 3 short months! I am super excited about the wedding, Delainey is the flower girl and Ise will escort her (Lawd have mercy, how cute will that be)! I can't wait to see all of their hard work and planning all laid out, knowing Jen, its going to be FABULOUS!
